So I have a Dell Latitude d600 running windows 7. I've downloaded and installed the broadcom 570x gigabit integrated controller, but my wireless still doesn't work. I've tried turning on/off the wireless control located on the keyboard but that doesn't help. Also, any other wireless network adapter/driver i've tried to install either doesn't work or can't be installed on windows 7. Is there any hope or should I just go back to xp/vista?

You can run the drivers in compatibility mode. I have done this for old nic cards. :)

You can Google how to install hardware using compatibility.
