wii lan adapters

    hi,
    can i use my usb2.0 to 10/100mbps ethernet adapter to get online with my wii or do i need a wii lan adapter.the specs on the two look very similar to me.

    I'll ask my boy when he gets up, but he's using the built in wireless LAN.

    Just talked with him, he thinks it should work as is. Give it a try. I wonder about drivers, but it works it should be painless. The Wii has a built in browser too, so that is cool.

    thanks,i will give it a try.one more thing,is a network adapter the same as a lan adapter?

    Yep. Lan = Local Area Network.

    The important word in both is Ethernet, which pins it down exactly. Since Ethernet is pretty much the universal standard (there have been others, many moons ago) this isn't too much of a concern.

    If you find yourself spending a lot of money for hardware keep the wireless option in mind, it is a lot better in a lot of ways. But that is a subject of another thread.
