Will Microsoft 365's Office Functions Keep Working If I Uninstall Onedrive?

A while back I got Microsoft 365 as an affordable way to get Office.

It comes with OneDrive which, long story short, has lost a bunch of my files, including on my home computer, so I no longer trust it. I've tried a few different things to disable it, but none of them has completely turned it off.

I could keep trying to disable OneDrive, but I've decided I'd rather just get rid of Microsoft 365 and find some alternative to Office that meets my requirements. (What my requirements are doesn't really pertain to my question, so there's no need for anyone to give them any thought.*)

So I'm in the process of trying out a few possible alternatives to Office. So here's my question: If I uninstall OneDrive (after salvaging some files from it), will Microsoft 365 keep working while I decide which Office alternative to choose?

*Just in case anyone's curious, I'm looking for something that's affordable (or free), NOT by subscription, fairly full featured with respect to word processing and spreadsheet (I don't care about the rest of Office's components), has a 'look and feel' similar enough to Word and Excel so that I can 'hit the ground running' with it, supports some key file formats (RTF, DOC, DOCX, PDF, XLSX, TXT, and basic image formats like JPG. GIF, PNG, etc.), can be installed on at least two computers, and is 100% resident on my local machines without ANY cloud functionality; I just don't trust the cloud anymore.

Office 365 should keep working even if you uninstall OneDrive. As for alternatives, LibreOffice & OpenOffice are the most popular choices. They will open most file formats you mentioned, but not always identical to how they'd look in MS Office. It depends on how complex the Word or Excel files are. If there are tables or pictures in Word they might need some tweaking after they're ported over. Formulas in Excel may have to be rewritten. Macros likely won't carry over. The good news is you can experiment for free and see if the alternatives work well enough for your needs. Just be sure to have a solid backup of your original files if it doesn't work out.
