Win 10 TP and User Accounts

I upgraded a spare Win 7 Pro laptop, bought for my wife but hardly ever used. Her user account was Administrator, no password. In Win 10 sign-in options it says it's a local account but then provides a link to Sign in with a local account instead. This produces an error, as does every other attempt to change the sign-in options in any way.

It's clearly a logic error in Win 10 and atm there doesn't appear any way out of the situation, other than maybe creating a new user account and deleting the existing one. Haven't tried that yet.

So, if you are upgrading from 7, make sure there is an account password already in place.

The upgrade can take a long time btw. I had to leave it on and went to bed, but it was complete next morning.

 

I'm signed up for the "free" upgrade, win 10
I'm wondering if I can download it to a disk an put it on my 'puter when they have the bugs worked out. That way I can fix them easier.

 

From the latest builds, I would say that there are some issues with cortana and the start menu. Hopefully, they are worked out by July 29th.

Those who opt to upgrade to windows 10, are really beta testers. So, if any issues you come up on, you should post your issues with Microsoft.
