Hi. I'm not sure if i'm posting this in the correct forum but i'm having problems getting rid of this. It shows up after an adaware scan.

I know i got it off limewire because limewire kept starting up itself, without any help from me. I've tried to uninstall limewire but to no avail. I've tried deleting this after an adware scan but after a reboot it's back again.

I've no idea how to gt rid of it and any help would be gladly appreciated.

We have a procedure for Alcan.a removal. Try this: Alcan.a Removal

Afterwards we probably should look for other malware issues, but let's try this first.

Well first it would be nice to know if it helped fix your Alcan.a problem??

Then I would recommend you follow the below instructions.

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
