Win 32 Rootkit-gen HELP!!!!

hi all,

Hope everyone is doing well. Last night, new instances of the Firefox browser began opening themselves on my computer. The pages were mostly blank; but sometimes there'd be an ad for some kind of "registry fix" product. I ran Avast and quarantined whatever it found; but it still pops up every time i reboot.

I ran a scan with the "hijack this" program and the following is the log. Thanks in advance for any help - Steve

OK, first i'd like to apologize for posting an HJT log. I've since done some reading and I understand this is a no, no.

i'm using win XP, so I did step 1 and ran super-anti-spyware. I thought I fixed things because there were no problems after reboot and reconnecting the modem. However, upon a second reboot, the Avast message was back and I noticed some program quickly open and dissappear toward the corner of my screen. Again, sorry for breaking the rules before. Pleae help me. Here is the SAS log:
