Win 64bit Stop error code

I replaced the hard drive, but still get Stop error code: 0x0000007b..infected boot sector. I put original hard drive back in. My expensive Gateway bundle from Best Buy(no, didnt buy insurance) did NOT come with any Vista Cd's or recovery disc, NONE. Can't call Gateway, warranty is voided by my son who put in a new video card 3-4 mos. ago. This computer is only 6 mos old. I burned a Win 64bit recovery cd & have tried every option on there. It attempts to start fixing but goes back to the Stop error code. help please :cry
