Win 8 won't boot

Hi all not been on here for years glad to see it never stopped growing. I finally gave in and restarted win 8 so it could do updates and restart, as far as I know the machine was not interrupted what so ever while this took place. When it had finally finished it took a age to get to the windows log in window and when it did it will not boot to windows it just displaces the busy circle and welcome....and that's all. The big problem is I can't get to safe mode or bios like previous versions of windows and I don't have a installation CD or a recovery flash drive....really peeded off with MS again........please any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. ( I have already spent two days searching google for solutions but no luck :-( ):cry

 

Please share the full system specs. See if you can boot into BIOS by tapping F2/F4/F10 (see whichever works) and navigate to secure boot confiration under boot options and disable secure booting.

If that didn't helps, try to boot into recovery mode (refer to Manufacturer instructions for details).

also with regards to your lack of os cd/usb, as long as you have an original key from microsoft, you can download it from here;

Had the laptop a couple of years now it runs on win8 acer aspire E1-572 core i5, I was not re installing win it was just Tuesdays ms updates that from what I can see have just confused it.

 

I have never purchased a key for this machine (only ever bought win7 prem) so as far as I no cannot down load windows for a rescue cd/flash?

 

Hi and thanks F2 got me to bios but still no luck in resolving my boot problem. Machine is a acer aspire e1-572 i5 few years old only every used for web and editing images on LR, like I said the blunder occurred after a MS update and restart in which it never re started.:cry

 

There must be some way for you to boot into safe mode. Read the article below:
