Weigh it in metal is really high.

Put a huge firework inside it then post on youtube.

Use it as a heated stool.

Take all the components out and install them in your parents desktop without telling them.

Put it on your back and pack the insides with a parachute then jump from plane!Set the parachute to open once the desktop has loaded.

Put a "Property of Lehman brothers" sticker on the side then sell it to the FBI.

Put it next to a macintosh classic connect them and see if they breed.

Connect it to a UPS and take it on your next date, every time you talk to your date do so over the CPU fan so you sound like a robot.

Connect it to a fishing rod then go to a microsoft convention see of you land a 250lb programmer.

Hide a single raisin inside the computer somewhere then try to get into Australia.

Take it into a computer store and tell them you have windows 98 and are worried about Y2K,when they tell you its already happened say

    "Happened?What time is this?"

When they tell you what time it is scream.

"Time? No man FGS what year is this what yeaarrr!!!!!!!!

Make sure your voice gets louder towards the end of "year."

O.K I'm tapped :-D Hope they're crazy enough for you...

Stuff a light Linux distro on there for a great firewall and if you've got enough HDD space, maybe a home server. It would still be a good *nix learning box if you like to :banghead :-D

I never thought of that. would it work with Mint? I have that distro. I think it may be to old though. No specs.

IDK if it would work, my ex 1GHz Celly machine worked well for the person who I gave it to. I'm not a *nix person even though I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 in VMWare 3.0.0 on the 930 in W7 and my 2600K which is native *nix.

I use it to fold for max results, basically as just a tool. I just learned enough *nix to get by on and it's much easier to learn the basics when one has a goal in mind as opposed to confronting the whole damn OS at the start.;)

You can always boot from a live CD just to check specs out first(if you can't boot into '98) and then someone here can point you in the right direction.

Load Vista onto it and once loaded (this may take a "Few Minutes" lol) try and open a DVD movie in notepad.
You could set a new record for the slowest computer in history..... thats if it doesn't explode under the pressure of Vista first :-D

I can only tell you what I did with my own Windows 98 PC.
I upgraded it to Windows XP and it's still running today, as my backup PC.
I've put in a bigger hard drive, bigger PSU, more ram and a new DVD Burner.
It's a great little PC. It also runs Windows 7 Ultimate, on a second HD.

I also have one that I built back in either '99 or '00 that was given back to me, when my customer got a new system. It had ME on it. I upgraded that one too, to XP-Pro and it too is still running today. Those older PC's are usually a bit slow, but much more reliable than a lot of the new stuff. Use it, don't loose it!

Just a thought from an Old Timer.

    :cool

Outlets? What's that got to do with anything?

Really? That machine won't take much power at all. I have both my machines on a cheapo power strip and have no had issues.

I'm a Notepad-a-holic, I have never come across a file I could not open with notepad, even if it just comes up as garbled text.... it STILL opened.
So one day years ago with my old AMD Athlon XP3400 and 512mb of RAM I decided I wanted to see what happens if you try to open a DVD with Notepad.

Well, the PC hung up and locked a few times but rest assured... approx 2 hours later a notepad file opened with a text version of Lock Stock and Two Smokin' Barrels :strong

Let me tell you... a 6GB TEXT file has the smalest scroll bar you have EVER seen!
Couldn't even get hold of it properly, but I have never seen so much text.

I feel quite lame getting excited over this memory :-D

Don't be I'd get excited too. Now your making me want to try it.

    AAAHHHHH OK . ..
Now I understand . If i had an actual DVD I would have tried it myself.
Now im curious how long it would take MY computer.
Im off to search for my largest media file and try !:-D
