    hi

hoping im posting in the correct forum, not sure.

Upon bootup, in Win XP, i noticed today for the first time that i have a solid white line, that then breaks up into sections and scrolls across the bottom of my screen. I am worried this may be a virus or something.

My main reason for the worry is, this morning my computer inadvertently lost its ethernet card, even the card was installed, it would not identify it in system device, so I had to install a new one. Then, my computer lost the sound card, and i had to reinstall that.

So funny things have been happening. I finally got the sound card and the ethernet cards repaced and they are working as we speak.

I just want to make sure I have no Malware or VIRUS that is changing my settings, or deleting important data.

I run Zone SEcurity with antivirus and firewall on my computer, thats it.

    Any suggestions where to start?

    thanks
