Win xp home edition -Folder access denied

    HI

    Windows Xp home edition, P4 2.6 Ghz, 256 MB RAM,

    I recenlty reloded my windows XP completely, but I still have the folders of the users from the previous windows. These folders are occupying huge space in my hard disk. I want to see what is there in those folders and want to restore some of the files if necessary. When I try to access these folders i get a error message 'access denied'. Can anybody suggest me a way to access these folders. PS - I am the administrator for the computer.
