Win XP logon problem

Hey, new here, and had a conundrum. I've got a windows xp machine, on an AD domain, and if i logon as administrator, or as myself, everything works fine. There's another user, and when she logs on it does the 'loading personal settings', that finishes, the background image comes up, but nothing after that. It will just sit there. I've run through hijack logs, and multiple virus scans, and come up empty. I've looked at and cleared off startup programs and scheduled tasks. Now on the screen that it gets stuck on, you can't even ctrl-alt-del. But if once i'm on that screen i unplug the network cable and leave it unplugged for about 8 seconds, everything loads up fine. I can then plug the network cable back in and everything works. So I started thinking it might be a corrupt profile. I renamed the old profile and moved it while logged in as administrator. I logged out, and tried to let it recreate itself by logging in as her. and the same thing happens. She is a local administrator on the machine.

Anyone have any ideas? I've been looking at this for a while, and having her unplug her network cable everytime she needs to logon doesn't seem like alot, but it shouldn't have to be done at all.

the windows firewall is turned off. we have a hardware firewall, and she has the same access that i have.

 

i did not think of that, it's always something simple that you should've checked, isn't it? haha. yeah, if i try to logon as her on another workstation it does the same thing. now I just need to make sure everything will work okay if i make her a new profile.
