Win XP only opens in safe mode?

Hello there, My desktop has been serving me well for a few years and running on WinXP sp3. Turned it on this morning and it started as normal with the welcome screen but just wouldn't open past the wallpaper. No icons on the screen.
Opened it in safe mode and asked it to estore back a month. It restarted itself opening XP with a message that the restore was incomplete and it still didn't open. I am confused!
Got back from clearing my head to opening it in safe mode with networks so I could ask the wisdom of Majorgeeks.

I recently installed the wise care 365 pro program that was mentioned in the Majorgeeks facebook page.

I know that XP is a flash from the past but I would really like to get it up and about again. Any ideas as to what I should do?

Odd that the machine would just suddenly display these symptoms. You might try shutting down, unplugging the power supply for a few minutes, then firing it back up just to see if there might be a change.

If that's a no go, then boot back into Safe Mode, run 'msconfig' (sans quotes) and make note of your Startup list. The fact that you can boot into Safe Mode leads me to believe that some 3rd-party program(s) could be your culprit(s) - you might try selectively disabling the startups until you find the cause.

When I open XP and don't get past the wallpaper I can get Windows task manager by pressing Ctrl/shift/Esc...
Not sure that it helps.
I disabled all at startup except itype msseces and NvCpl but it still will not open.

Any thoughts, Please.

When I open the task manager and run explorer.exe my documents opens but the screen is still left as wallpaper?
This has been too many hours,,,
