Win XP Pro SP 2 slipstream install

So I built a new system. Nothing much, I attempted to install my SP 2 slipstreamed XP Pro CD (yes it's a legit copy) and when it get's to the install step, I get "Installation Failed" says it's missing a file but does not say what file it is missing.
Now, tonight, I plan on trying the install with out the SP2 slipsteamed in. (See if there was anything corrupted during the slipstream process) Does anyone have an opinion on this, or have seen this before?
I ultimately plan on making this a duel boot machine with Mandriva Linux. I currently have 2 HDs installed both at 80 GB.

Any opinions are much appreciated.

How did you slipstream the disc. I have had very good luck with autostreamer. Also, are you trying to install on a machine with SATA because XP does not include those drivers. Those have to slipstreamed with something like nlite.

tgell, I will have to look at what program I used to slipstream SP 2 into my Windows disk and get back to you on that.

I am not installing to a SATA drive.

I did in fact use Autostreamer to slipstream SP2 into my WIN XP Pro CD. Lucky I made a copy and used that.

The error I would get stated:
Fatal Error
An error has been encountered that prevents setup from continuing.

One of the components that windows needs to contine setup could not be installed.

The parameter is incorrect

Press OK to view the setup log file. (I selected OK)

Error:
Instalation failed: D\I386\asms. Error message: The parameter is incorrect.

NOW, when I installed with the NON slipstreamed XP Pro, it worked. Any one else have an issue installing a slipstreamed version of Win XP Pro?
