So I wanted to let my daughter's profile only have access to her Sony IPOD program. When I deleted the icons from my profile's desktop and start menu, they are deleted from hers. I tried temporarily setting her up as admin, & going to Program Files in Win Explorer. Right click to set permissions, and the box that you check to make that folder private to her is greyed out, I cannot check mark that box. How to set this program up only for her, and delete from me? Thanks.

if you go to "C:\Documents and Settings", you will see the folders for all the user profiles on the computer. Just go into the folder for your daughter's profile and open the desktop folder. Make sure a shortcut for that program is in that folder. If you set her up as a basic user, not a power user or administrator, she should be able to access her program, but not install other applications.

That is the easiest way, let her use any application installed on comp, but she can't install any herself.

if you only want her to use the ipod program and nothing else(like IE, or Offcie), then you can right click on the actual .exe file and select properties. There should be a security tab, where you can select the individual user to use the application. I'm using a comp at school so it might actually be different.

"Make this folder private" is greyed out on the sharing and security option (when I right click on the folder in the Shared Folders section. How do I enable this?
