I've had a Transcend Store Jet 2TB C62062 external USB drive for over 6 years that has worked just fine for system back ups & a host of files including photography. No problems on any of 3 Windows 10 systems.
Earlier this year when my excellent SAGEM Freeview & incorporated hard drive recorder, bought for a song over 12 years ago, packed up I decided to dump that in the small electricals recycling & use the inbuilt 'Smart' feature of my LG 32LN578V-ZE Smart TV for 'pause' 'record' & 'scheduled recording with a USB hard drive & since I needed a minimum of 4ogb for that I decided to use the Transcend.
To cut a long story short as my usage (recording, watching & deleting) rarely meant much more than 30GBs was on the drive, I decided to make use of the Amazon Prime 'Change your default payment method to anyone but Visa before 19 Jan 22 & we'll give you £20' with which I bought a well-reviewed Samsung Fit Plus 3.1 USB stick with 128GB storage for £7.18 with that discount. I love a bargain.
Here is the problem - removed the Transcend connection following the exact instructions on screen menu of the LG TV but no matter which of 3 laptops with Win 10 that I connect it to, none see the Transcend now, they all recognised it fully before I used it with the TV.
I've searched online but can't find any solutions.

If anyone has any ideas I'd be grateful but I have checked, it still works fine on the TV. But I would, if I can find a resolution, make more use of the 2 TB without having to turn my living room into a community cinema, with all the testing of them for the collywobbles needed nowadays ;)

In the meantime I wish everyone a very happy safe & relaxing Christmas and happy 2022 :)

So the device is not detected when plugged in USB? Does Windows popup a message about formatting the drive? If you go into device manager (Win key +r & type devmgmt. msc)is there a yellow icon saying there was an issue with the device? If you open disk management (Win key +r & type diskmgmt. msc) is the drive there? Best guess is they use some Linux format for their storage.
