You appear to be in pretty good shape.

Your illegal copy of NOD32 was broken by the infection. If you want good security, do not use illegal software especially software that is meant to provide your security. You cannot trust cracked software to properly protect you. Uninstall it immediately and use one of the free tools in the below:

How to Protect yourself from malware!

Now run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
    O9 - Extra button: Add to StyleFeeder - {54cac42e-a33b-44c0-b43f-df5949b436f4} - C:\Program Files\StyleFeeder\IE\stylefeeder_script.js (file missing)
    O16 - DPF: {0EB0E74A-2A76-4AB3-A7FB-9BD8C29F7F75} -
    O16 - DPF: {CAFEEFAC-0016-0000-0001-ABCDEFFEDCBA} (Java Plug-in 1.6.0_01) -

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now download and run the new update of MGtools just released MGtools.exe

Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file.

    You're welcome.
Your log is still from the old version of MGtools. You need to download the new version from the link given and use it.

Perhaps you just ran the old copy. What you have now is correct and your previous one was not.

Now we need to use ComboFix.
    • Make sure that combofix.exe that you downloaded while doing the READ & RUN ME is on your Desktop but Do not run it!
      • If it is not on your Desktop, the below will not work.
    • Open Notepad and copy/paste the text in the below quote box into it:
    • Save the above as CFscript.txt and make sure you save it to the same location (should be on your Desktop) as ComboFix.exe
    • At this point, you MUST EXIT ALL BROWSERS NOW before continuing!
    • You should have both the ComboFix.exe and CFScript.txt icons on your Desktop.
    • Now use your mouse to drag CFscript.txt on top of ComboFix.exe
    • Follow the prompts.
    • When it finishes, a log will be produced named c:\combofix.txt
    • I will ask for this log below
    Note:

Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixme.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.

    Now run Ccleaner!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it.

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\ComboFix.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

here you have..., and yes, the adding to the registry was successful!

Currently here are no problems. Actually i don't know what would they look like, if the trojan was still present..? (except NOD being invalid - but i already uninstalled it.. so i don't know)

The ComboFix script did not work properly. Let's try fixing this another way.

Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.
    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Do not change any check box options!!
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:
    • Now click the Execute button.
    • Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    • Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    • Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it.

    Then attach the below logs:
    • C:\avenger.txt
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

now, 10 mins later, i disconnected the pc from the electricity and now it did start up. the windows now work

That procedure with Avenger was only deleting a left ofver malware registry entry from the Win32/Bagle infection. It should not be doing anything with your NTLDR file. Perhaps this is the reason for the other crashes! Maybe your system file was infected.

Do you have any floppy disks, CDs, USB drives, etc inserted?

Do you have your Windows XP boot CD as you are going to need it?

  13. cocoabutter

    cocoabutter Private E-2

no, i don't have any floppy discs, any CDs or USBs inserted.. i just have 2 local discs and a card reader (currently empty) i will search for the CD for windows tomorrow, it's too late now...

thanks for your help, i hope we'll find a solution! i'll write tomorrow when i'll have the cd..

    good night

hi.. i copied the two files 'by hand' from CD to C drive and restarted PC... everything works fine..

do you think that the trojan is still here? should i send any logs?

Run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it.

Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip log

Can I assume you have no more malware symptoms?

    mglogs attached..

the PC works properly, it doesn't restart anymore. Avast! also works. are there any other signs that are distinctive of bagle trojan?

    Your logs are clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. You can uninstall SUPERAntiSpyware now.
    2. We recommed you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware as a scanner. It uses no resources except a little disk space until you run a scan.
    3. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop & renamed it like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combo-fix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the cf" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\cf folder from combofix.
    4. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    9. If you are running Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Thank you for your help! :)

    I just have a question.

Why everytime i reboot the pc, i have to choose between Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Windows XP Professional Setup. If i don't choose anything, the pc chooses the Setup, which then fails, because a4268257.sys file is missing. What do i have to do, to make the pc to choose
Why everytime i reboot the pc, i have to choose between Microsoft Windows XP Professional and not the Setup?

Make sure that you do not still have your CD inserted in the CD drive.

    Also check this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827324

And continued help with this should be posted in the Software Forum.
