win32 cryptor

Hi,

Have win32/cryptor trojan. Vista OS.
Booted into safe mode, ran AVG, reported it had found it but couldnt deal with all the locked system files.

So before researching I attempted to restore to a previous point. Now I cant boot to safe mode or normal windows. Cryptor is killing explorer.exe.

I've read of plenty of apps that can handle the trojan but always have the precursor of "firstly boot into safe mode"? Best I can do is load the command prompt and execute an app from there? Dont know if these apps run in dos.

Dont really want to lob out the hd and run search from another machine in case of infection on that also.

Kinda stumped..................

 

Getting to command prompt through the recovery console in vista.

I ended up swapping out hd to get files off, wiping and reinstalling in the end...

The black screen with just mouse pointer in vista seems not to have been caused by cryptor but rather a more serious issue with os. MS fix for it is "reinstall"........nice.

Tried a couple of steps to recover os but all failed so resorted to the old school method
