hey guys. during a scan with avast it detected win32:gaobot-2435. it recomended moving it to the chest but i deleted it instead ( stupid i know ).i ran the scan again and it came up clean. im not showing any sings of infection and was wondering if deleting it was the wrong thing to do?. just thought i would ask to see if i should go through the Cleaning Procedure to make sure. thanks guys..

The only time I would hesitate to delete an infection would be if it might be a false positive and the file, when quarantined, resulted in systems or programs not running properly. If certain that it is a bad item...no problem with just deleting it.

i've had avast a long time and that is the first time it has detected anything. so thought it was best to check with you to see if i had done the right thing.
