My Toshiba laptop with XP home edition has been taken over by what claims to be the win323.netsky. For the past several weeks Spy Sweeper has stopped websites trying to access my computer. This past Saturday as soon as I logged on, a popup appeared stating my computer was infected. It created shortcuts to my desktop for "Antivirus Plus", and it wants me to run a scan. I disconnected the internet the second the popup appeared on my desktop. I am unable to do anything in normal or safe mode. Friday I ran Spy Sweeper and McAfee scans which revealed nothing wrong. I have read your instructions from the 10-09-05 post (Read and Run me First), but do know know how to copy files from a USB drive to the infected laptop from the Windows Advanced Options menu. Thank you for your help!

If you have downloaded the scanning tools to your thumb drive, you just open the drive and slide the tools onto your desktop. From there you can install them or move them as the case may be. Then you can copy the saved scan logs to your desktop and then slide them onto your thumb drive to attach to your next reply. :)

But I am confused in that you state you can do nothing in normal or safe mode.
