Can some one please offer any assistance:
The aforementioned 'win32 Trojan' reared it's ugly head into my PC was intercepted by my anti virus 'Avast' software, and was detected in every one of my drives, now rendering them not to be able to be opened in the usual manner. IE my computer and the customary single/double click of the mouse, but a window popping up 'Open With' choose the program you want to use to open this file!!! of course I am able to open the disc's by going to the address bar and selecting each respective disc to open and view the files, but this is not how I would like to do this, I want to be able to return to the 'old way'?? please can anyone tell me what i should do?

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide
    • If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.
    • Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.
    Notes:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can run steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:
    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated, however I have removed all trace of this virus, but what concerns me is the way I now have to open my disks in 'My Computer', I am not able just to click on them but have to select each disk from the address bar! The virus has rendered this very thing, I was hoping someone could tell me how to turn this around so that I could revert back to the normal procedure?

We need to see the logs from the READ & RUN ME to be sure that all malware has been removed and to check that various registry entries malware may have changed have been fixed. If you don't attach the logs, we have no way of guessing what problems may remain and all we can do is refer you to the Software Forum where you could ask for help.
