    Dear Administrator,

    My AVG 2012 has detected a Win64/Patched.A virus in services.exe. It kept on popping up every 30 min or so. I remember I was surfing the net for books to download yesterday when it first happened. I read around a bit and found that this virus can be fatal if left on its own for an extended period of time thus please help me with its removal. I have attached the logs with this post. Thank you for your help in advance,

    Goto Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the below:
    1ClickDownloader
    Ask Toolbar
    Babylon toolbar on IE
    BabylonObjectInstaller

    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button

    Now click the Files/folders tab and locate these detections:

    • [ZeroAccess][FILE] @ : C:\windows\Installer\{a75361ea-3fdc-c166-6788-bc5bada6a55f}\@ --> FOUND
      [ZeroAccess][FOLDER] U : C:\windows\Installer\{a75361ea-3fdc-c166-6788-bc5bada6a55f}\U --> FOUND
      [ZeroAccess][FOLDER] L : C:\windows\Installer\{a75361ea-3fdc-c166-6788-bc5bada6a55f}\L --> FOUND
      [ZeroAccess][FILE] Desktop.ini : C:\windows\Assembly\GAC_32\Desktop.ini --> FOUND
      [ZeroAccess][FILE] Desktop.ini : C:\windows\Assembly\GAC_64\Desktop.ini --> FOUND
      [Susp.ASLR][FILE] services.exe : C:\windows\system32\services.exe --> FOUND
    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.
    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)
    Do not reboot your computer yet.

    Now rescan with Hitman and have it fix everything it finds!! When it finds services.exe - Virus, allow it to Replace by clicking the down arrow next to the detection and choosing Replace.

    After a reboot, rescan with both RogueKiller and Hitman and attach both those new logs as well.

    Then run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Attach the new C:\MGLogs.zip and be sure to tell me how things are running.

    Thank you for your quick reply Tim :)

    I ran roguekiller and hitmanpro then rebooted. I then rescanned with both roguekiller and hitmanpro which did not find the previous virus. Finally, I used mgtools/getlogs.bat and got a zip file. I have attached 3 roguekiller log, 1 hitmanpro log, and the mgtool zip file. Hopefully, this is the end of this virus :)

    http://imageshack.us/a/img841/7292/thisisujrt.gif Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.
    Then tell me how things are running.

    Good to know.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. You can uninstall RogueKiller and HitManPro.
    2. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
      related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
    Malware removal from a National Chain = $149
    Malware removal from MajorGeeks = $0
