    Hello all --

My current configuration is a Dell XPS15 Laptop i7-2630QM with 8GB of RAM and the GeForce GT540M video. Running Win7 HP 64 with SP1. I am a US user who is currently traveling in Europe and since I've been over here, I'm getting a daily BSOD that is generating a Kernal-Power Event 41 Task 63.

I ran the minidump file through BlueScreenView and it's pointing to file ntoskrnl.exe. See minidump attached.

I'm in over my head -- any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Did you add any software prior to this happening?
    Have you tried system restore?

I also found a description of Kernel-power error, ID 41:

1: The last sleep transition was unsuccessful. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding failed or lost power during the sleep transition

2: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding crashed or lost power unexpectedly.

Because of what I found, I wonder if being in a different country the power is different but I will admit that I am unsure, just heard stories. I would be curious if this happens when you are on battery power, in other words. Either way, one of the above should fix you up.

    In answer to your questions:

No new software since leaving the US, and it hasn't happened in the US

    Doesn't happen on battery power

Happens when I have multiple (like 10+) tabs of Firefox open, or iTunes open and playing for many hours

Sleep is disabled, but system is set to Hibernate after 1 hour of inactivity. I am actively using the system when I get the BSOD.

Have not tried System Restore yet

I'm leaning more towards an AC power problem -- they're running 220W/50V here as opposed to 120W/60V in the States. I'm using my US brick with a standard plug adapter -- I'm wondering if my brick has an intermittent fault or if it is catching a drop in current.

    Thanks for your help!

I would check the knowledge base I posted if a system restore does not fix it.

Bah -- just figured it out...

Each time it's happened, I've had my Blackberry charging via USB port.

Thanks for the suggestion -- it helped me find the cause!
