Win98 and Zone Alarm

    I am running Windows 98 and I have been using Zone alarm for quite some time, and love it. Regrettably, since installing the most recent version of ZA, it has bogged down my computer and is eating up much of my resources.

    Do you have any suggestions, tweaks or an alternative firewall that is as good as Zone Alarm, and that is also free?

    AGNITUM OUTPOST is the only firewall to rival ZoneAlarm.

    They do a free and a paid Pro version.

    I'm using W98SE and Zone Alarm ( version 6.0.667) without resources being hogged. Try loading Process Explorer. This will show you if ZA, or somethimg else, is to blame.

    Does this program allow you to modify advanced options for individual programs, like you can in the trial version of ZoneAlarm Pro. I was pretty disappointed when my trial ended and couldn't edit options! :rolleyes:

    Yes, as far as I know it does, but it's been a while since I've used it.

    It's free, so give it a try or have a read of it's site.
