Winamp issues

    So, I put in a new mobo and RAM, formatted, and now when I download Winamp, it wont put out sound. windows media is ok, real player is ok, but winamp wont. help? I want winamp!

    did you try reinstalling it again? i assume you are using 5? make sure the volume bar isn't at 0....

    okay you didnt' specify so i didn't want to assume anything.... what happens when you double click a song in the playlist... does it start playing with just no volume or does nothing happen>

    try this from winamp's forums:

    "try the following DirectSound Output tweaks:

    Winamp -> Prefs (Ctrl+P) -> Plugins -> Output -> DirectSound -> config:

    Device tab:
    -Make sure your sound card is selected as Device (c/o drop-down menu)
    -Checkmark "enable hardware acceleration"

    Buffering tab:
    -Checkmark "enable cpu usage control"
