    Greetings.

A well known problem is the fact that many manufacturers have not yet caught up with Windows 10. Case in point: many machines carrying the RealTek PCIe Gigabit ethernet adapters will periodically drop connection for no discernible reason. The only remedy is a reboot of the computer.

I recently worked on a laptop (ASUS X550 series) that was a Win10 upgrade from Win8.1 - the network-dropping symptom was a constant problem. After several fruitless tries through the Microsoft forums/troubleshooters, I decided to go to the the source.

After reloading a new, updated RealTek driver, the problem has been solved. Hope this helps anyone with similar symptoms.

IOBit's Driver Booster may have solved the issue.
