Windows 10 Clean Install

I spoke with a microsoft help desk person and they said if I could find someone with a Windows 10 CD that was willing to loan it to me I could do a clean install and then when I was ready I could do a factory reset and it would stay windows 10. Is it possible to do a clean install from the net? If so anyone know where I might find the software I need?

 

There is no need to borrow anything from anyone. With THIS TOOL you can download genuine Windows iso files for burning to DVD or flash for later installation. However you would still need to purchase a licence key - the free upgrade is long gone.

 

You could also use Microsoft's Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. It gets you the latest build.

 

I have the free windows 10 already but I need to do a factory reset and I was told if I borrowed a CD it would read my key from my free setup.

 

Forget about factory resets - Reset is built right into Win 10. Start > Settings > Update and Security > Recovery > Reset where you will be offered the choice to reinstall Win 10 keeping your files or start afresh with everything. You should have been told that.

 

You would download the ISO file using either the tool linked to by Earthling or the one linked to by me (scroll down the page to "Download Tool") and burn it to a DVD (not CD — the file is too large for a CD).
