Windows 10 converted to windows 8.5!

So I did a fresh install of Windows 10. Had a bit of a time getting it to activate, but with some help from google, found the number, called them, gave them my key, they activated it NO problem.

First thing I did was install "startisback". Think I paid 5 bucks for two keys. Yes there is also a free software that does kinda the same thing. Never used it. But that turned my start menu back to a windows 7 feel.

When I first installed windows 10 I disabled ALL that tracking stuff. Used the custom install. No worries if you forgot, you can youtube or google "disable windows 10 tracking". Pretty simple.

The last thing I got was "ultimate windows 10 tweaker". That let me just put a few more shell tweaks in there, got rid of "one drive". Its a free program works pretty well.

Once I had it just the way I wanted, I backed it up using Macrium Reflect. Its free and works awesome, never failed me. I may even keep two backup's on hand. One back up for my current state, and one for a "fresh windows 10".

Just thought this little guide may help others, and maybe we can get more input on what others did to turn windows 10 into a much better os. That is unless you like Microsoft tracking ya.

Yea, I took a look at that software, Not really impressed with it. I guess green means its already been changed??? Or it means it needs to be changed??? And there is nothing confirming it did change. So yea, nice idea, just needs a bit more work imho.

 

I'm surprised that no one has brought out a 'Windows 95 Transformation Pack' for Win 10.

 

No there's not such thing as Windows 8.5.
That's just the name that tym gave to their tweaked Win 10.

 

A guy did a video on the subject of converting 10 to a more user friendly, less spyware software. He called it windows 8.5. So my apologizes for not clarifying that and sorry if I caused any confusion.
