Windows 10 Ltsc

I abhor the bloatware that comes with anything beyond windows 7. however some web based platforms (Steam, iRacing) I use are ending support for anything below windows 10, which means I have to probably build a new box and buy W10 or W11.

I was reading about Win10 LTSC as a stripped down version of windows that some people are using on their boxes. I would much rather run a system with less bloatware that is less intrusive.

Does anyone have any input on this?

There are tools to debloat Windows 10/11 that do a lot more than the LTSC version.
If you really want a slim version try https://ameliorated.io/ and make your own (AtlasOS or ReviOS) instead of downloading any of the pre-modified (tiny 11, etc)

thanks for the reply. I look forward to checking it out. I have to admit, I am not an OS guru by any stretch, but I think alot people like myself stuck with Win7 for so long because of the uptick in bloatware and how intrusive the OS is about everything you do.

From what I understand, Edge, Cortana and the other MS products mentioned in your reply I dont use anyway. I use Brave myself, and occasionally chrome.

 

My layman's understanding is LTSC is for corporations that don't want compatibility changes every time MS rolls out updates, it's not really debloated as much as it is not patched as frequently.
