I have three computers that all used to live comfortably together on a single wired win 7 network. With Win 10, one of the machines says that it is on "newnet"; another says it's on "network1"; and the third says it's on "network2" AND "network3" (using two different ethernet adapters. As a result, these machines can't see each other. At various times, for reasons unknown, another machine may become briefly visible to the others, but then it goes away again.

Is there any way I can get all these machines to work together? I should note that they are all theoretically members of "workgroup".

    Thanks!

That is very helpful, indeed. I've tried to set up homegroups before without success, but this guide suggested a few things that I hadn't tried earlier. It now works, and solves a lot of the problems.

It does not, however, solve the basic issue of what network something is connected to, and how that matters. So in one sense, I'm solved, but a significant part of the original question remains.

But thanks so much for your help!

I'm guessing that each nic is named different. If so, you can simply right click the nick and choose rename, if you so desire. If this is not what you are needing, post a pic here for clarification.
