    With windows 7, I sometimes leave a document and/or a website open
when putting the pc into sleep mode. They are usually there when
I awaken the pc. With windows 10, my documents and browser were
not there when the the pc was re-awakened. A message told me
that updates had been installed. Is there a way to avoid this in
windows 10? Would I lose an unsaved document when this occurs?
    Thanks

In settings, go to Updates and Security -> Windows Update and select Advance Options. Then choose how updates are installed. From the drop-down, select notify to restart. Yes, the unsaved document was lost because the computer automatically restarted after installing the updates.

Should be a reminder to save your work.

Thanks, I thought I had set the constraints on that as much as allowed but maybe I missed that one.
I usually don't leave important stuff open or unsaved but every now and then I get lazy with trivial items.
