I am thinking of upgrading windows to 10 after a year of hate on windows 10.

In it's first year i hated it completely.Too many issues.

Now it's been a year later since i have had windows 10.Has Windows 10 gotten any better than windows 7 since the free upgrade or should i still stick with windows 7.I really do not have an issue with windows 7.I had an issue with windows 10 due to the fact when i got my laptop it literally damaged my main hard drive that was in the laptop when i first got it.

The Laptop's 1 TB drive got bricked some how and i had to replace the HDD with a faster SSD.

Even though my boot times are faster now under 20 seconds in windows seven is there any advantages i am missing out on with windows 10.

Mind U i do have a AMD A10-8700P that is a quad core that runs at 3.2Ghz and with a built in 512MB ATI AMD Radeon R6 Graphics. In which case it's higher than 512 mb with mods.

Any tips or should i stick with windows 7.

Be cause i feel like i need to reformat drive after about a years abuse.

I see computer users in three distinct groups - those who depend on their computers because they are essential to their business or employment - (2) the great majority who have computers because they just enjoy using them and find them incredibly useful or even essential to their daily lives - and (3) most of us, enthusiasts who come here and try to help others, partly for altruistic reasons, partly to assist in keeping our own knowledge up-to-date, and partly because we can earn a few bob, or kudos, helping friends, family, and neighbourhood.

Those in the first group need to evaluate the need to upgrade very carefully indeed. I don't think we need to talk about the second group at all, and then there's us, for whom IMO it's either keep yourself up to date or just forget about it. In my book that means having a Win 1o system even if you use something else for your personal needs.

So which group would you put yourself in?

I like windows 7 be cause it can be modified easy enough.

But in most cases with windows 10 it can't unless you are using a third party program.

I was a Windows XP person, I loved XP but I was given a refurb with Win 10 Home installed on it. After a few quick journeys trying find where some things were located, by searching with the built in Cortana, I've never looked back. I still love the look, feel, and ease of XP but Win 10 in my opinion has become just as easy to use. I even have the Windows Media Creation Tool saved on a USB stick in case I want to reinstall instead of reset Windows 10.

I see Earthlings view of 'punters', and more.
I tend to tell people who know little about computers to stick with what they have, if it does what they need.
Many just like to get on-line, use a word , or, other program, or, Skype.
If they have Windows 7, and no problems, and are tentative in its use- I advise them to stick with it- unless they decide to buy new- then Windows 10 is so much more user freindly.
