I am one of those folks that like to be first, and will test new software to see if it is something useful to me. I have a test computer that I use, not a production computer, and I do not have it on my usual network, so I stay clear of major problems that new software can cause.

I was an early downloader (and tester) of Windows 11. I did not like the taskbar, and I have written about my distaste for it on several websites and forums. My dislike was not about placement, a common complaint, but about use of the taskbar. I dislike using the Start Menu, using it only when I have no other choice. I'd rather use shortcuts, but I do not like having them on the desktop as they cover the beautiful photographs that I use for Wallpaper. I prefer to have those shortcuts on my taskbar. Since I normally have over 40 shortcuts on the taskbar, most of my computers (I resently have 9) do not have enough room on one line for all the shortcuts and require a second taskbar row. Unfortunately, the Windows 11 taskbar cannot be expanded into rows. Previous Windows Operating Systems did easily allow taskbar rows, so I wished to return to the older Windows 10 taskbar (or to have a way to modify the Windows 11 taskbar to add rows).

Early on in my search for a way to do this, I stumbled upon StartAllBack ($5 each machine) which allowed (apparently) a return to the Windows 7 taskbar, while at the same time changing the Start Menu to the older Windows 7 Start Menu. I used that for awhile, hoping for something better, and continued to search for something that gave me the Windows 10 taskbar in Windows 11, but changed nothing else. I then found a free software, ExplorerPatcher, which added one file to the Windows Directory, and allowed the Windows 10 taskbar to be an OPTION in Windows 11, making no other changes to the Windows 11 Operating System.

It is for this reason that I write today. I am sure that many other people will benefit from the ExplorerPatcher software, and I think it should be added to the software that MajorGeeks provides on it's website. I am not acqainted with the author of this software and in no way benefit from others using it.
