At the risk of appearing stupid, I don't understand what you mean.

I appreciate the vote of confidence but some of the answers I've had on this thread credit me with more knowledge than I have. I used to be quite up-to-date but my knowledge has failed to keep up with the rapid changes happening in technology.

I don't know what information Microsoft are collecting or what they will do with it. I'm not a conspiracy theorist but don't necessarily wish to be giving any organisation information they probably don't need.

 

As you said the upgraded PC had booted into the 'wrong ' user account I was simply suggesting you log off that user and log in to the user account you felt it should have booted into - or am I misunderstanding what you said?

I really don't want to get into a debate about this. There have been several threads about it over the 'free' period and it's clear a lot of ppl feel strongly about the fact that your computer is continually 'phoning home'. As Max mentioned, there is third party software available with which you can selectively suppress this activity, see #48.

 

Just crossed wires I think. I'd inferred you meant change some setting that reordered account priorities.

I'm not starting one. I simply meant I don't have enough information to decide either way. I don't know what information Microsoft are collecting and what they're going to do with it. So, I can't make a decision as to whether it ought to concern me or not.

 

You do if you just READ the details of O&O Shut Up 10 program.
Windows 10 collects more private data than any earlier OS and uses more system resources to do that. So using that program has two benefits.
