Windows 11 S Mode Troubles....

Hey gang... not sure where to post this question...sorry...

I am trying to decide if I should remove [ S MODE ] part of my windows 11 home. when I bought it, I did not know about an s mode.... I quickly figured out that I cannot download anything out of the microsoft store.
I do fractals [ seen here ] and I cannot do any withougt the software needed to calculate fractals. This sucks !
I'm scared to remove S MODE because of security issues like banking and government sites needed to view.I feel that I cannot use this puter the way I am used to... With all the hackers and spammers and the like...microsoft ensure me that S MODE is the way to go for optimum security.... Your lfeedback is greatly appreciated ! Thanks for reading !

While S Mode may be safer, one of the first things I did when I bought my Windows 11 laptop was to switch out of it. It was far too limiting and like you, as an experienced computer user, I didn't need Microsoft's prophylactic measures. I simply run Windows Security (with Defender UI), Malwarebytes' Windows Firewall Control , and practice (mostly ) safe surfing practices. I go where I want, do what I want to do and, so far, nothing untoward has happened. I think you'll be fine switching out of S Mode.
