   Hi,
   I've dusted off an old laptop for my wife to use. It has windows 2000 professional as the operating system. I need to install a free anti virus. The AVG free addition will not work. Anyone know of a free anti virus/spy ware program that is compatible with windows PrO 2000? Thanks!

   And AVG still works with Windows 2K. ( see this: http://free.avg.com/ww.download-avg-anti-virus-free-edition#tba3 )Perhaps you just need to get up to the last service pack level which is SP4. Also you could have an inadequte amount of RAM. Tools these days typically state that you need at least 256 MB of RAM.
