    Hi Folks,

I am running windows 7 home premium (64 bit). I just realized I have a critical update for .Net Framework that won't install and am getting the dreaded error code 8024200d. (Already saw some other posts w/ people having problems with Vista) I am at the end of my rope with this. I have ran every detection tool, rebooted, just going around and around in circles as Microsoft is so famous at doing. Downloaded repair tool windows 6.1-KB947821-V22-X64, kept hanging up, finally got it to say it was installing only to have it finally say it didn't install.

Can someone please help me? I'll check back in the morning for any replies. I have to get up at 4:00am so I have to quit messing with this for right now.

    Thanks in advance! Donna

    Hi

What I would try is to completely remove .NET and use this tool HERE it will remove any .NET version that did not come originally built into Windows 7.

Then reboot and then run Windows update again and see how you get on. We can install any newer .Net versions that Windows Udpate doesnt list for you once Windows Update is not erroring.

    Hi there!

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, I truly appreciate it. Before I use the .NET remove tool, I need to know if I will need the windows 7 disc. I bought this computer with 7 installed and have never done a back up disc. So, if I need it, I'm SOL!

    Hi falconattack,

Thank you so much for taking the time to offer help to me. I am grateful for your experience and time.
I tried the clean boot mode and it made no difference for me. I still can not perform the update.
Using the SFC/SCANNOW command, I can not do, I do not have the Windows set up disk.

    Once again, thank you!
