Windows 7 Malware protection ?

Yes the concept still applies to Windows 7; however Microsoft stopped installing their own Java a long time ago. That part of the How to protect is more for older systems. You will not have MS Java in Win 7.

Note that since Win 7 is basically new to the general public, the same software support does not exist yet. Thus some programs will not fully support it. At least not yet. The same had been true when Vista first came out. The free antivirus programs do work and some of the firewall selections show also work. We have not developed a full compatibility list yet. Similar to Vista, it does not appear that everyone is running to the store to buy it. Most people using it are forced to use it when purchasing a new PC. IMHO, seems like most people keep asking if the can purchase PCs with XP on them. We just purchase 30 machines at work and shopped around a little and the first thing we told the vendors was "No XP, No Sale!". Obviously they all agreed to sell with XP.
