Long story short my fiancee's parents computer running windows 7 (not the laptop I spoke of on another post) is running slow... I have no idea why, I recently ran SuperAntiSpyware and it found nothing.

    The computer specs are

Intel Processor (sorry its not infront just going off memory) 2.4ghz 64bit duo-core
    4 GB Ram
    1 TB HD

My fiancee's parents are on vacation and before they left I introduced them to Comodo Dragon which they found they rather liked and they said "it breathed new life into the system" but for some reason just 2 days later the computer is running slow.

They have Avast on it, I checked the Task Manager and there is nothing over powering this computer at all when its idle.. but for some reason things are groggy when you start surfing... for example...

If I started to type this sentence I would be half way if not more into it before it would show up on the computer screen, it would also at times take a bunch (which would no doubt cause them to do more clicking) on the file manager icon on the task bar.

At times there computer is at a stand still waiting for things to catch up as well. I have no idea why.

Oh and IE crashes for them constantly it didn't always but it just recently started to do so, I have thought about completely removing IE from the computer if IE doesn't start working properly.

I normally do registry cleaning but due to a previous post on MG's main site (not the forum) stating that it can go one of two ways (either real good or real bad) I decided to pass on trying that route cause with my luck it wouldn't go the way I wanted.

If you got any suggestions I'm all ears...

I know the computer is a little dusty but I don't see dust slowing down a computer like how it is...

    Thanks in advance

ok I'm currently running the virus scan that you asked me to, when the computer reboots it'll check the HD and Memory

Do I have to watch it when it does the HD/Memory check ?
