Windows 7 startup annoyance.

I have been searching through the startup links but can't find what I want. I suppose it's quite simple but I'm afraid I don't know how to stop that annoying little square picture that comes up while loading Windows. Everything stops until I have clicked on it. I don't bother with a password because I am the only one using the computer and I'm sure when I had Vista and XP I could just press the power button and then go off while Windows did it's thing. Now I have to sit there and wait for this daft square to come up and then click on it. Most annoying.

 

Thanks for your help but the link you gave me started off by going into the Registry and making changes. Not for me I'm afraid. There had to be a simpler way to get what I wanted and I found it here :

Because I have never had to do this before on any of the many computers I have owned I wasn't familiar with the terminology. 'auto-startup' as it applied to Windows itself. If I had said that was what I wanted in the first place then you would probably have given me the answer yourself. We live and learn.
