As the title says, I am having troubles booting up my computer. It is in the constant loop of Startup Repair but it doesn't repair it at all.

    Please help me. :cry

Can you describe exactly what you see when booting up the computer.

Before it gets to startup repair what are the options? Just Start Windows Normally or Startup Repair? If you describe the various screens you see it would be helpful.

Do you have any Win7 disks? Do you know which version of win7 you are running 32/64 bit?

When it doesn't repair does it give you any options or just restart without asking you anything?

same thing has happened no me!!! I operate Windows 7 home edition and mine is also stuck in a continuous loop. I even tried pressing f8 upon startup and that got me to advanced boot log unto which i tried repair, safe mode, same mode with network, safe mode with command prompt, and also restore to last known configuration.... But no luck kept on going in a loop. Thank God i have Ubuntu with Linux installed so I can post on this forum... I need my Windows 7 back!!

    Additional: 64 bit
    with no repair disk

    Hi,

I'm not certain of a clear way forward but I would try a chkdsk and possibly system restore. You can get to those options by creating a recovery disc. You can download the file here. You have to write it as an IMAGE file. Imgburn's "Write Image File to Disc" option will work (or you can use whatever burning software you used to create your Linux disc).
If you prefer to use a USB drive, Pendrive123 can write the file to USB. In the program there is an option way down the Distributions list for Win7 installation disc. Choose that and then in step 2 point to your ISO.

Then boot from the CD and it will attempt automatic repair which will probably fail. So close that window and look for the link for View Error Details. Post back if it references any particular file or reason for the problem. As seen in figure 6, here.

Then go to Command prompt and run the two following commands:

    chkdsk c: /r
    chkdsk d: /r

Try to boot normally. If that doesn't work I would go back to the list of 5 options and try a System Restore.

Those recovery disc they have you make rarely work. I have used Restore once and it worked like a charm. high jumper
