Windows 7 update install bug?

So, I bought a new Win7 laptop and it downloaded about 70-80 updates total, installed them successfully. Last night when I pressed shut down it started installing one of two updates it found. And, well, it still is installing the first of them.

Total installation time would be (I got pissed off eventually and just turned it off for the night) about three hours. It still is installing and I can't do anything. I can only turn it off and when I turn it on again, it shows the same blue win7 shut down screen, saying smth like "don't turn it off." (I turned it off only once, last night). The white periods after "installing 1 of 2" are moving, and I can switch languages, so I guess it didn't freeze, at least not completely.

I can't move the mouse pointer, though. Don't know whether I'm supposed to, anyway. But it's in a circle-shaped rotating form, probably meaning that something is going on there.

Is there a way I can abort this process? I tried all the stuff I know, but that's basic noob stuff like ctrl+alt+del and alt+f4.
