    Hi, ALL,
    Have a veery interesting problem.
    I am managing a Windows 7 computer.

When I came to work today, I noticed that it has an un-installed updates. However, every time I tried to install them, it failed.
I went to the "Control Panel" and click the button "Install 2 updates" under the Administrator account. It finished. Then I rebooted the machine. During the shutdown process it wrote "Do not power off the machine - updates are installing."

However after reboot I still see the icon on the "Shut Down" button of Start menu.

Any idea on how to fix that?

I am attaching the update log file for the current date so that maybe someone can take a look.

    Thank you.

Leave it on overnight to see if it works?

Secunia PSI might install them for you (I'm not sure on it's legality on a business machine though).

    Hi,
    Unfortunately it didn't.
I came in today and I see same 2 updates needs to be installed.

When trying to run Windows Update from Control Panel->System And Security->Windows Update I am getting:

    Code:
    Errors found:
Code 800B0100 Windows Update encountered an unknown error.

    Any idea?

    Thank you.

    Did you try SecuniaPSI?

If that doesn't install them, this MS tool should do it, it'll be a slow process so start it up and go watch a movie or something ;)

    Hi,
I tried the MS tool, since I didn't want to go to the licensing road.

Here are logs from running this program.

Can I try to install the updates now?

    Thank you.

Just tried to update the OS.

The update failed with the same error/error message as before.

Do I have to talk to MS about it?

    Thank you.

    Hi, guys,
Today I tried to update the system again. When I opened the "Update System" window, it showed 3 important updates.

Now after trying to perform them, 1 was successful, and the same 2 failed with the same error message.

Which actually means that windows update works properly.

Maybe it is possible to do an update by hand?

    Thank you.

    Hi, ALL,
The issue got resolved by itself.
Today I looked at the "Update History" and found out that it installs another update which solved the problem.

Thank you, all for suggestions and support.
