   I've ordered Windows 7 upgrade from Tiger Direct and it should arrive sometime after Oct. 22nd. My question is, can this be installed on a new or formatted HD?:confused

   no, only if you have a current windows version. Thats why it's the upgrade version. If you have xp or vista, just install it, and run the upgrade for win 7.
