Windows 8.1 "missing System Hive"

How can I replace the missing system hive?
Automatic recovery can do nothing for me.
I ran chkdsk and all was good.
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool says that the system hive is missing.
Puppy Linux finds almost empty directories on all partitions.
The only place I can find anything even a little hopeful is in
the size of System and Software in config at CMD.
In Puppy they are nothing.

Thanks for your message. There are no restore points left and system restore and repair don't work even
when booting from a restore disk.

 

Can't get into Windows at all.

 

I wondered what happened to my post - seems someone must have deleted it, though I can't imagine why. You can't use the system restore or repair functions using an OEM restore disk, it has to be either a Microsoft Windows installation disk or a system repair disk you create yourself within Windows, though few ppl actually do. Anyway, if you can't boot to Windows and don't have the right bootable disk how do you know there aren't any restore points?

 

I'm using the Microsoft Recovery Media . When I ask it to restore to Restore points, It says there aren't any.
There but hidden, maybe?

 

Actually Microsoft Installation Media. I did all the fixboot stuff in CMD and almost everything I could find on the web
but no boot. Didn't mess with the registry but suspect that may be the problem.

 

Hopefully someone else can come up with an alternative to reinstalling Windows.
