Windows 8.1 won't burn photo CD

I dragged the photo folder(685MB) to the DVD 'E' disc drive (with a blank disc in it) in "MY computer". Selected the folder in the drive. Went to 'share'. Clciked on' burn to disc'. Nothing happens. Open the photo folder. Select all. Click on 'share' & 'burn to disc'. Pop up window says 1%... 2%... 3%. So it's working on it. OK. I leave the room for a couple minutes. No way it's done at the speed it was going, but the pop up window is gone. I look at the DVD drive on My computer. It says there are still 702MB available of 702 MB. So there's nothing on the disc. I take it out. (it didn't give me any kind of message like-"if you take this out...... are you sure you want to do this?") Put it on my disc player. It doesn't recognize it. "no disc".
I did this twice. It makes music Cd's fine. I am bummed. What's going on????

Just Tried it. Actually got a pop up that said I had files with the same name. I took care of that & hit continue. It got up to 4% before it quit this time. rolleyes

 

I just tried it again. now ti says the disc needs to be formatted. Since when??

 

Are you using a CD-RW? Try a CD-R.

 

Nope. We don't use rewritables.

 

Have you tried a different disc?

 

Yup. Different disc, better brand. Same result.

 

This is not good. Unfortunately I'm out of possible solutions because I don't use Windows 8.1 and I don't burn any discs from Windows - I use Nero. If you want to try a program for managing your images, let me know. But, that's not going to fix your problem...
