    WELLLLL...

You're gonna love this. I looked at this OS, and thought about some of the hardware it would be running on like tablets, and the like.

SO, I had this old Dell C640 laptop sitting in a dusty corner, and decided to load W8 on it. P4 Mobile CPU (1.8 GHz), with 768MB of memory on board and Hitachi Travelstar 5K80 HDD. I'll tell you what, it runs more than respectably well. In fact, the only thing "bad" is the WEI score due to the graphics hardware. Surfs the web just fine unless there is a massive amount of graphic advertisements on the page, and boots in less than thirty seconds from pressing the power button.

    Processor: 2.4 :(
    Memory: 3.9 :cool
    Graphics: 2.0 :cry
    GPU Graphics: 2.0 :cry
    Primary HDD: 4.3 :)

I have to agree about keeping things simple, when I saw the begning of the video I thought to my self "why do they have to drive people crazy, until people learn how to use something they flip it all over again"but then I saw they also kept the classic ui (in small, yet bad changes)

I say, keep things simple and don't try to be a mobile!

    Thanks Bill!!

Just as many people had all the same complaints about moving from Windows 3.1 to Win95 and Win98 and even more complained about moving to WinXP when it first came out because of the increased hardware requirements. That was also the biggest complaint about moving to Vista and Win7. At least they seem to have reduced the burden on the computer with Win8 allowing some of the older ones to run it. I probably won't even try to get used to the Metro UI though and I don't think businesses will either unless their going to build the touch screen into the top of their desks.

My win8 crashed after 4 days. I haven't reinstalled as I haven't had the time or the inclination. From what I saw it ran fine perhaps a bit quicker than win7 but any new install runs a bit quicker.

I wanted to say that the new "Refresh" your PC did not work for me. Neither did the full restore to "factory". The crashes, there were three, happened in FF. Two were recovered from after a reboot. The third corrupted something critical. I'm surprised the full restore didn't work. I thought that it might be some type of system image created after first boot of the initial installation. That apparently is not true. It must be some type of rehashed system restore point. I had hopes that MS had made win8 "idiot proof" and had created a true reset option but the new recovery options seem to fall short of that promise.

With today's large HD, I really think that the Windows installation process should include the creation of a small partition that contains an image of the new fully bootable OS, customized for that particular PC, that can be cloned to the main partition when necessary sort of like a physical reset button would do. It would solve a lot of problems and get people's PCs up and running quickly.

Well said, seperate OS is a must, I don't understand why don't they do that, PC and handheld, in my eyes, are different in use.
