Windows 8 Store App not working

Hi

When I click on the Windows Store app it appears to open but after a second or two it closes immediately. I have tried other sites for solutions but I have not had any success. If anyone can help to solve this it would be greatly appreaciated

Have you tried loading in safe mode and see if it works then.

 

I tried booting in safe mode and unfortunately there was no improvement - thanks for the suggestion anyway...

Thanks for this I have followed carefully all these options but unfortunately there is no fix yet.

You may end up having to blow out the copy on the drive and reinstall Windows 8 again, if you cannot get it to do a repair. See http://www.thewindowsclub.com/fix-unable-update-windows-store-applications-windows-8 and http://www.thewindowsclub.com/fix-unable-install-apps-windows-8-store before you go to the last resort of blow away and reinstall the OS.

I have gotten to the point that I keep documents up in a Box.com cloud drive, or on a local NAS for local copies, since I am currently trying 8.1 Preview, and also was doing some work with Linux Mint & Ubuntu for a project that I was working on.

After loosing so many drives over the years, I stopped keeping documents on the machine itself, so that I would never have to be mad, because I lost something important.
