Windows 8 wifi?

My lil'ones all have W8 and it keeps cutting out on them, it's very random. I looked on line and it appears that many users are having the same issue. The believed problem is that W8 has caused a problem with the drivers, and there is no solution. Only to restart the computer, reinstall drivers, but this is no solution in my opinion.


Any have a read on this, any permanent fix that involves changing something and not having to mess with it again? Other than just getting them Vista of course, lol.

 

Something I found out was that Windows 8.1 has solved these issues. It automatically correctly configured the ethernet and wi-fi on my older 32-bit machine. The only driver I had to install was for my Sigmatel audio.

 

Did you literally just tell me to google it? LOl.

 

If wifi is dropping, it would not be Windows, but possibly due to the range from the wireless Access Point for your kids. What is the make & model of computers that they are using, what wireless device is installed in the unit (go to Device Manager and in Network adapters, find the wireless adapter, then right click and go to Properties, and what does it state for the adapter installed.

Also what is the Wireless router you are using, and how is it located in the house. What is their signal strength on the adapter? Use inSSIDer, which you can download on here or at http://www.metageek.net, and it will tell you other access points around you, what channel they are on.

All it takes is congestion on one channel, to cause dropping, also bad wireless routers and access points can also be a problem, with just poor quality adapters in the device being the other issue.
