Windows Activation Problem

Hi, I have been using Virtual PC 7 on my Mac runing the Windows XP Home SP2.
Just recently I have been asked to Re-Activate Windows XP. I have tried to put in the serial number that came with the program, but it tells me to reactivate it by phone. So I have done that and everything should be ok, right?

Seems like everytime I restart Windows (maybe every other time), I get this message which says that I need to Re-Activate Windows.. (Wait, didn't I just do this?) Ok, After the 5th Re-Activation, this is getting a little tiresome.

Does anyone know how I can disable this message asking me to Re-Activate my Windows XP (Now that it has been Re-Activated at least 5 more times by phone.) It keeps telling me that I have made some major hardware changes to Windows. The only thing that I have done is restart or reboot the program. What is causing this to do this? Anyone know how to fix this problem, once and for all? The Windows XP came with my Virtural PC program Version 6 and I have upgraded to Version 7.2 or whatever is the latest version. This is really getting annoying.

the win XP cd lives and dies with the pc it is bought with. if this is the winXP cd that came with the pc, then you have reinstall the software wrong. you will need to find a way to reinstall. its all about bill gates and anti-piracy actions i beleave.

however im told that the 30 reactivate will just go away after 30 days.?!?!? hope you get better info! cheers jeff

After the 30 day period expires you cant get into windows, when activating by phone, are you getting the finished button? I had this happen on a old pc, after i activated i went directly to microsoft and downloaded defender, which wanted to know if my windows was genuine, so i let it download the genuine check thing, copy and paste in the box, cancelled the download and rebooted. Fixed. May work for you. ed
